New Parents & Guardians

Band has many costs. To help alleviate the costs, we evenly share the fees across all students. We call this the "My Fair Share".

October, known in the band world as "Bandtober" is the most invovled month with majority of the contests taking place at this time. Because attendance is crucial, we ask all families to please schedule vacations outside of the marching season.

Without parents and guardians, there would not be band! Your support is crucial to the success of your child.

Zero Period Rehearsals begin at 6:45 AM. Because Zero Period is an official class, being on time is crucial.

Meals on Wheels is a program to help get food to students fast on Away Game Days. The Booster Club will announce how much the meal will cost at the start of each away game week.

We understand attending appointments is important. We ask that all appointments be scheduled outside of rehearsal times. We do not rehearse Wednesday mornings to help provide a day.

Marching Band has many moving parts and setup is a team effort. We ask that all students arrive early to help be sure we begin rehearsal on time.

Marching band requires many moving parts that take time to put away. We will always do our best to dismiss from rehearsal on time, but please anticipate your child may take some time to help put things away.

To ensure students are on track with learning music and choreography, we require students to "pass off" certain parts of the show.

All Region is a great opportunity for students to practice etudes (music) that challenges their skills on their specific instrument. At the beginning of December, auditions are held where all schools audition for the opportunity to participate in the All Region Bands.

Most marching band contest days consist of two stages, Prelims and Finals. Because these days can be long, students are provided meals. Since we are a 6A High School, most performances will be later in the afternoon.

The marching band performs for all football games in El Paso, along with certain contests that are announced at the start of each marching season.
