Band Directors 
Director of Bands, Mr. Bruce Beach

Mr. Beach is beginning his thirtieth year as a band director, nineteen at Franklin High School. He oversees all aspects of the band program which includes marching, jazz, and concert bands as well as all color guard and winter guard activities. Mr. Beach co-directs the marching band with Mr. Allen conducts the Wind Symphony and Jazz Band 1 and assists with all other bands.

Mr. Beach keeps a very busy schedule outside of the band room. He is past Band Chairman for Texas Music Educators Association, Region 22, a position he held for sixteen years. He is currently Principal Trombone, Assistant Conductor and Personnel Manager for the El Paso Wind Symphony. Mr. Beach also performs regularly with the orchestra at Cielo Vista Church. He is an active member in the following organizations:  Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Phi Beta Mu International Band Fraternity and The Texas Bandmasters Association where he is currently President Elect.

Mr. Beach and his wife Alma will celebrate their twenty fifth wedding anniversary this November. Alma is also a very successful band director at Mountain View High School in the Clint ISD. When they have spare time, they enjoy spending time in their huge yard, time at the family cabin in Arizona, and taking care of nieces and nephews.  Over the years, they have hosted 22 foreign exchange students!

Mr. Beach is a 1984 graduate of The University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Music and he also holds a Masters in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. (Updated August 14, 2013)
Assistant Band Director, Mr. Daniel Allen

Mr. Allen is in his twenty-first year of teaching and in his sixteenth year at Franklin H.S. where he assists with the Star of the West Marching Band, and is the Director of Jazz Band 2 and the Symphonic Band. He has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association where he has served as President, and now serves as Band Chair of the greater El Paso region (Region 22). He is also a member of the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, and the professional Band Fraternity, Phi Beta Mu.

Mr. Allen is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout the school year and does numerous leadership and drum major camps during the summer.

Mr. Allen has been married for seventeen years to his wife, Ruth, who is a band director at Hornedo Middle School. They enjoy spending free time with their thirteen year old son, Christopher, and their eight year old daughter, Lauren. (Updated Fall 2015)
